About the Speaker

Monette Iturralde-Hamlin is the president and founder of TeamAsia. Monette is responsible for operations, including event management, sponsor recruitment, participant promotion and sales. TeamAsia considers itself to be primarily a sales organization, and under Monette’s leadership the company has developed a tight set of inter-related activities and expertise related to promoting and selling special projects. These activities include all aspects of direct marketing, including direct mail and the establishment of a dynamic network of associate organizers.

Monette’s leadership and business skills have made it possible for TeamAsia to present many of the world’s top management and motivational speakers in the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia, including Michael E. Porter, Philip Kotler, Fred Wiersema, Deepak Chopra and Mark Victor Hansen.

In addition to her responsibilities as president, Monette is a hands-on manager, taking direct responsibility for international conferences such as the 16th Conference of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver, innovative programs as The National Engineering Excellence Award, Girls Athletic League, and the company’s expansion of its direct mail and call center services offered to its client base. Monette directly oversees event management activities, with projects ranging from product launches, technical training and dealer recruitment meetings, conferences and consumer fairs.

Monette was previously associate publisher for World Executive’s Digest (WED). She was responsible for circulation for most of the magazine’s first decade, and increased its circulation from less than 15,000 to close to 70,000 throughout the region, making it Asia’s fastest growing English-language magazine.

She was also responsible for managing The Asian Management Awards from its inception, eventually establishing a network of almost 10,000 Asian organizations participating in the Awards every year.

She has designed and led workshops and seminars focusing on effective business writing, presentations skills, cultural sensitivity, and sales for leading organizations in both the public and private sectors. She developed and taught Services Marketing at the Asian Institute of Management, and has taught Written Analysis of Cases for incoming graduate students.

Monette completed her Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology at the College of the Holy Spirit, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her post-graduate studies were at the Asian Institute of Management where she finished her Master in Business Management with Distinction.
